Screwed directly to the source it's easily secured into place and removed if necessary. The slot is cut perfectly to fit it, and at the base the glass rests in a small but secure grove to keep it from swaying back and forth. It may be one of the simplest pieces for sample holding, but it gives relialbe and constant results.
