Detecting Explosives
To demonstrate DART's ability to detect explosives in complex matrices, a sample of pond water was spiked with mixture of 3ppm each of various explosives. A 2mm diameter glass rod was dipped into the water and after the sample dried onto the tube it was subject to analysis. TFA-adducts were generated to provide for more effective detection of RDX and HMX.
