Threat Detection

The rise of economic adulteration in all industries presents a challenge to the typical quality assessment paradigm.  You need a means to detect substitution of ingredients, partial substitution of substandard product into manufacturing schemes, and even complete production of fraudulent material to protect your company and its customers.  DART can be used to verify the quality of single samples in seconds, making timely assessment of larger numbers of samples possible, thus increasing your capability for threat detection.  Both non-specific and well characterized chemicals can be detected in either raw material or finished goods.  Build your product profile today.  Contact us for a demonstration.

Swab and Detect to Identify Explosives

Quickly detect explosives, whether they're pre- or post-blast, with the benefit of no extensive sample preparation or significant analysis time. Speed is critical in time-sensitive situations, such as those immediately following a blast from an improvised explosive device (IED). A prompt response is possible with the rapid and accurate identifications of the explosives or components used provided by DART-MS. DART-MS is also suitable for high throughput demands such as airport screening.

Identify Starting Materials and Components

Identifying the component or starting materials used to create for instance an IED can provide a link to the manufacturer of the device. IEDs can be made using a variety of different materials such as ammunition, household ingredients, batteries, or even fertilizers.

Found a container potentially containing the starting material?

Quickly identify it with thermal desorption DART-MS. Simply swab the inside the container or around the container lid/cap with the same Teflon-coated fiberglass swab used for IMS and insert the swab into the thermal desorber. The example below shows the identification of smokeless powder, a component used to make ammunition.
